SURPRISE!

Caught a SURPRISE! screening yesterday at GV Plaza.

You may wonder why i call it a SURPRISE! screening.. Well, cos those are the exact words that were printed on my ticket.

Was browsing through GV's website the other day, and i caught sight of this..

I crossed my fingers and booked my tickets online. >.<

We were late for the show, and it was all thanks to:

1. Traffic jam at CTE
2. Rain
3. Accident on CTE
4. Stupid drivers

As we walked from the carpark to the theatre, i kept telling Baby to walk with greater speed. Then he said, "Don't worry, GV shows don't start on time"...

Well, maybe for the normal screenings.. But hey, it's a SURPRISE! screening - something i paid $11.20 for ($5 per person, $1 booking fee, $0.20 Mastercard surcharge).

We reached the theatre at 7.10pm, and the show had already begun. Prior to entering the cinema, we had no clue as to what we were watching - only that it was a horror film and that it has not been shown on the big screen before.

The scene was set 18 years ago in a classroom of girls with a (WTH! catholic?!) nun - Sister Ursulla (reminds me of the evil octopus in Little Mermaid) - as the teacher. She caught a girl - Mary O'Brien (reminds me of the sandwiches - hiding a love letter in class.

Love was frowned upon by Sister Ursulla. In fact, she was hysterical when she found Mary hiding the love letter, so she tore up the letter and tried to stuff it down her throat.. Until Eva woke up.

Series of events.. Blah blah

Fast forward to the ending. Sister Ursulla's spirit was ultimately slained by Eva - the product of Mary O'Brien's sexual relationship with (huh?!) Father Miguel. I suspect Sister Ursulla had a thing for Father Miguel too haha. So yup, Eva died in the end.

I conclude. The story was basically told from Eva's point of view and the stories that she has been telling other people. In actual fact, she was being possessed all along by Sister Ursulla. The spirit needed a physical body to commit the murder of the women after all.

Not worth the money cos it's not really scary. Ok, maybe dead nuns are scary. But that's just about it - the rest were just plainly computer graphics, cos the aural effects didn't have much effect either. And there were smooching scenes in between the horror scenes! HAH!

You can find the sypnosis of The Nun movie here.

The Nun opens in cinemas on 1 June 2006.
